U16-U17 Tryout Dates:

U16 Players: 8/10 (2-4pm) & 8/12 (7:15-9:15pm)
U17 Players: 8/10 (4:15-6:15pm) & 8/13 (7:15-9:15pm)

Video Submission For U16-U17:

In-person attendance is strongly preferred for all tryouts, as it allows our coaches to better evaluate each athlete’s skills, communication, and overall court presence. If you are unable to attend in person, we do accept video tryouts. REGISTRATION REQUIRED!

U11-U15 Tryout Dates:

U11 (5th Grade): 10/29 (5:30-7pm) & 11/2 (2:30-4pm)
U12 (6th Grade): 10/29 (5:30-7pm) & 11/2 (2:30-4pm)
U13 (7th Grade): 10/30 (5:30-7pm) & 11/2 (4:15-5:45pm)
U14 (8th Grade): 11/2 (6-7:30pm) & 11/3 (5:30-7pm)
U15 (9th Grade): 10/30 (7:15-9pm) & 11/3 (7:15-9pm)

Tryout Location:

Greenwich Academy - 200 N. Maple Avenue, Greenwich, CT

Cost:

$45 each

We strongly recommend players attend both tryout sessions to give themselves the best opportunity to be evaluated thoroughly.

Attendance at both tryouts is not required, but encouraged.

What to expect when you are on a team:

  • 2-3 Weekly practices focused on high-level skill development
  • Competitive tournament schedule
  • Balltime access: in-depth video recording and match statistics (except U11 & U12-2)
  • Workouts with a certified trainer to build strength, speed, and prevent injury
  • Recruiting guidance for athletes interested in playing at the collegiate level. Including free SportsRecruits access ($400 value) for U15-1 through U17-1
  • A culture of accountability, hard work, and team unity

    • WHAT TEAMS WILL WE BE HAVING?

  • U11, U12-1, U12-2, U13-1, U13-2, U14-1*, U15-1, U16-1, U17-1
  • We will be having TWO U14-1 teams based on the depth of talent in this age group.

    ****TEAMS WE MAY HOST****:

  • U14-2, U15-2, U16-2, U17-2
  • These teams will be formed based on player turnout, talent level, and positional needs. Our goal is to build competitive and committed teams at every level.

    • USA VOLLEYBALL PLAYER AGE DEFINITION

    An athlete will turn the age of their division on or after July 1st
    U12: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013
    U13: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012
    U14: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011
    U15: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010
    U16: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009
    U17: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
    U18: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007

    MUST HAVES for tryouts:

  • 24-25 USAV/NERVA Membership (see link below) *Nov. tryouts will need the 25-26 membership
  • Water bottle
  • Positive attitude
  • Register for your grade level! We strongly recommend players register based on their grade. This does NOT mean all players will play at their grade level. Our coaching staff will evaluate athletes and, if appropriate, we may move players to a different age group—provided they are eligible—at our discretion.

    Fall Clinics

    Our Fall Clinics are a great opportunity to develop your skills and prepare for club season. We will emphasize teamwork, strong fundamentals, skills, and fun! These sessions will be structured, drill-based practices focusing on skill development and then open play competition.
